Summary: Best app by far Ive found for learning to read Thai. Details: Solid app. Very comprehensive in learning to read Thai. The sections on vowels and on tones are some of the most useful and informative Ive come across anywhere. Very clear and concise. Sections on consonants are useful too, particularly the chart indicating consonant classes. Minor downsides are the buttons on many pages dont work well at times. Pressing left or right arrow of triggers the speaking button. Also dont know why the have the arrows. Would be nicer just to swipe left and right. Pictures representing the meaning of the consonants could also be nicer.

This app has helped me relearn how to read and write Thai. It was very useful.

Easy to use beginning thai app

For anyone learning how to read Thai, there are those letters and combinations of letters that are troublesome because they are not very common. Or maybe they are trouble because they look like another letter or combo. Or maybe spelling rules need refreshing. For any or all of these reasons, Reading Thai is very, very helpful.

I just wish it had a flash card feature including srs. I have no affiliation with this company. I was looking for an app to learn the rules of reading thai, and this is it! It covers pretty much all angles in an efficient and user friendly way. Its not perfect, but thats about the only criticism I can give. I have lived in Thailand for 7 years and speak good conversational thai. But reading always seemed like not worth the effort. Im finally getting down to it and making good progress with this app!

It could use a flash card feature. Im struggling with the vowels... Other than that, its excellent and I use it often. :-)

Really easy to use basic app to get you well On your way to reading Thai... Use it often along side my conversational Thai learning software.

Great app, most comprehensive Thai alphabet app Ive found However I would like a function to test my recall of the letters. Used a writing app, Trace Thai, for that. But between the two I learned the consonants in 3 days and am working on vowels.

This is great. Tone rules, consonant and vowel explanations and review. Moving on to through theThai Sentence app now. As others have mentioned a flashcard study would be much appreciated. How about a vocabulary app that helps us learn to spell as well as increasing our word vocabulary. Using the proper letters (and why) would reinforce tone rules. Please think about continuing to create apps for advanced beginners and intermediate students not regularly exposed to Thai. I know that I would purchase such a program.

I have tried a few and this is the best by far. Only a couple small requests to the developers. Please change the red font to white on the black background on the main vowels page. Red is very hard to read. Also, could you please increase the size of all the Thai characters and symbols? Because many are so similar, having such small font makes it very hard to read on a phone screen. Thanks!

Sound does not adjust with volume button?!

The volume is far too low even when turned up all the way. Can barely hear the speaker (even when listening in a quiet room). Hope the developer addresses this problem. It is a serious one.

This app has pretty much everything you need to learn how to read that. Its great. The sound works fine, you just have to have "change with buttons" set to ON in your iPhones settings>>sounds.

Great tool to start with.

This is a wonderful app that I would recommend to anyone however it could be more informative as to how thai is written, include more interactive practice and learning, and how word structure works.

Great app - has all the essential tools for learning the alphabet as well as the pronunciation of each by native speakers in order to teach you to pronounce the letters correctly. I also like the color code for high, middle and low consonants. Its for everyone who wants to learn how to read Thai! I highly recommend this app!
